The Cones, previously owners of a Moorings 4800, are now the proud owners of a Moorings 4500, and they are sharing their ownership story with us.

A Moorings life for me Once the youngest owner ever to own a charter boat in our fleet, Jeff Monuszko comes from a family who has been sailing with The Moorings for over 20 years. His first charter with The Moorings was at the age of six, and since then he has had a passion for sailing and unbreakable loyalty to The Moorings. For James and Kara Abraham, yacht ownership wasn’t something they imagined for their future. In fact, before becoming Moorings owners, they had never even sailed before. The 2016 Annapolis Powerboat Show was one for the books. The Moorings Yacht Ownership Team proudly displayed the Moorings 514PC and the Moorings 433PC, and we were grateful for the chance to meet various Moorings Yacht Owners—some who have been in the program for 4 years, and also some fresh new faces.

Dick and Pam Backstrom, owners of Moorings 50.5 Caribbean Soul in Tortola, are truly a part of the Moorings family. 

It’s always a treat when our yacht owners come by the corporate headquarters. Our base managers and staff get face time with owners often, but we don’t as much here in the office. Rob Engelke, who was visiting the Tampa Bay area from Madison, WI, came by and allowed us to indulge in some swapping of sea stories.

There comes a time in every Moorings Yacht Owner‘s life when they will have to make the decision of what comes after their time in the Moorings Charter Fleet is over. Owners may decide to bring their yacht home, or go cruising around the world. They may choose to trade in their boat and purchase another yacht to re-enter The Moorings Yacht Ownership Program, and some owners may decide to sell their boat. Alternatively, The Moorings, unlike any other charter company, has the Footloose Charter Fleet. This fleet is composed of former Moorings yachts, and many owners enjoy extended yacht ownership in this program.

Welcome to our newest owners from Germany. Helmut and his is wife Gerti and Son Kevin, are the new owners of a Moorings 4400 catamaran in Agana, Croatia. Helmut and his family will enjoy the charter vacations throughout the program, but first they're doing some training on their new boat. Once complete, they'll receive their RYA day skipper certifications. Many of our owners use their owner points, particularly at the beginning of the program, to train with the RYA or US Sailing. Joining the program is a wonderful way to commit yourself to advancing your sailing skills.

David Burgess, owner of the Moorings 433 PC “My Wish”, has been around boats most of his life. “I grew up around the water. I had a Carolina Sport Fisher and I would go fishing all the time." And he is no stranger to the charter experience, he reveals,
