Inside the Moorings & Sunsail Owner Flotilla: Sailing, Community & Fun in the BVI

If you’ve been following along the last few years, you’ve probably heard us talk about the annual Moorings & Sunsail Owner Flotilla in the British Virgin Islands. And if you haven’t, imagine this: yacht owners from around the world, five sunny days in the BVI, friendly competitions, themed dinners, plenty of sailing, and just enough chaos to make the stories better.

Hosted by The Moorings & Sunsail team, this annual yacht owner event brings together owners, friends, and family for a week of island-hopping, laughter, and connection. It’s a chance to meet the people behind the boats, swap sailing stories, and celebrate what yacht ownership is really all about: getting on the water, making memories, and occasionally discovering who takes cornhole way too seriously.

With fair winds, sunny skies, and a flotilla full of great people, this year’s event was another unforgettable success. Watch the recap video below to see the fun for yourself, then keep reading for the day-by-day highlights.

Day 1: Welcome Reception, SUP Showdowns & Matching Fashion

We kicked things off at the base with a welcome reception, where owners had the chance to settle in, mingle, and start putting faces to the names and boats they’ve seen across our worldwide destinations. Then it was time for the highly competitive SUP contest, because nothing says “welcome to paradise” quite like testing your balance in front of a crowd.

With help from our great partner Lee Donovan, who hosted lessons and set up the course, owners brought their best paddleboard game to the water. Later that evening, everyone leaned into our first theme night: Matching Fashion. From boat-name pride to World Cup winner predictions, the outfits were coordinated, creative, and just the right amount of over-the-top. Dinner at Loose Mongoose in Trellis Bay gave us delicious food, amazing sunset views, and the perfect first-night atmosphere.

Day 2: Owner Regatta & Beach Happy Hour

No Moorings & Sunsail Owner Flotilla would be complete without a sailing regatta. For our sailors, this is the moment to show off their skills at the helm, enjoy a little friendly competition, and maybe earn some bragging rights for the rest of the week.

This year’s race around The Dogs brought steady winds and a tight competition. In the end, We Are Nuts took the win and reminded us exactly why the award-winning Moorings 4600 continues to impress on the water. After the racing wrapped up, we traded tactics for tropical drinks and enjoyed a relaxed beach happy hour—the kind of post-regatta reward everyone can get behind.

Day 3: Anegada, Tipsy’s & Flamingo Fever

This year, we added a new stop to the route: Anegada. Owners were shuttled over to Tipsy’s Beach Bar for a cornhole tournament that started with 10 teams and quickly narrowed down to the top contenders. Let’s just say there were some surprisingly serious tosses happening in paradise.

That evening, Anegada Reef Hotel hosted our flamboyant group for a lobster dinner with an ocean view. The theme was Flamingo Fever, and between the island setting, the fresh lobster, and the sea of pink, it was safe to say Anegada made quite the first impression.

Day 4: Jost Van Dyke & Tie-Dye at Foxy’s

After a full day of sailing from Anegada, the group met up in Great Harbour at Foxy’s Bar on Jost Van Dyke. Dressed in tie-dye gear, our owners were not exactly hard to spot—and honestly, that was the point.

The afternoon kept things casual with happy hour, good conversation, and plenty of time to enjoy one of the BVI’s most iconic stops. It was the perfect mid-flotilla moment: relaxed, colorful, and full of the kind of dockside stories that somehow get funnier every time they’re retold.

Day 5: Peter Island, Ocean’s 7 & Rock the Bay

Since our first flotilla, Peter Island has been a favorite final stop, and this year was no exception. We returned to Ocean’s 7 for a big meal, a private celebration, and one last night of fun together.

The theme was Rock the Bay, and our owners arrived ready for karaoke under the stars. Between the music, the laughter, and the end-of-week energy, it was the perfect send-off for another unforgettable Moorings & Sunsail Owner Flotilla in the British Virgin Islands.
