The Moorings Owner Flotilla: A Bucket List Event for Yacht Owners
One of the best parts of being a Moorings yacht owner? It’s not just the boat—it’s the lifestyle. And nothing captures that better than the Moorings Yacht Owner Flotilla.
Every year, we host this exclusive event in our #1 destination—the beautiful British Virgin Islands—and invite owners from all over (no matter where their boat is based) to join us for five unforgettable days of sailing, socializing, and soaking up the island life. From friendly races and beach bar takeovers to themed dinners and music bingo, it’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Keep reading for a day-by-day breakdown—or check out the video below to see what the fun’s all about.
Day 1: Welcome Aboard!
We kicked things off at our sunny base in Tortola with a Welcome Reception at the Pool Bar. As owners arrived—over 100 of them, plus friends and family—they were greeted with mimosas, swag bags, and some good old-fashioned mingling.
Then it was off to Peter Island for our first challenge: the always-entertaining Dinghy Race. No motors allowed—just two people per dinghy, paddling it out for glory. After plenty of laughs (and a few splashes), we headed over to Ocean 7’s beach and pool for some well-earned downtime.
That evening, everyone dressed in bright white for our Welcome Dinner, where the food was delicious, the music was lively, and the dancing? Let’s just say it didn’t take long for the party to get started.

Day 2: Racing, Relaxing & a Luau with a Twist
No Moorings Flotilla is complete without a regatta, and Day 2 delivered. Our pursuit race launched just north of Cooper Island and finished at Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda. The Dufour 41.3 “Zendor” showed the cats how it’s done, cruising to victory in true monohull fashion—sails only, of course.
After racing, we wrapped up the day at Leverick Bay Resort with a Laid-Back Luau Happy Hour—tropical drinks, a round of trivia, and plenty of sunset views.

Day 3: Cocktails, Potluck, and the “Nauti Shark”
Next up: Little Jost Van Dyke and the beloved B-Line Beach Bar, where Day 3 was all about food, drinks, and mixing things up—literally.
We held a cocktail contest, and while all entries were delicious, one drink stole the show: the creatively named and delightfully tasty “Nauti Shark,” which took home the top prize for both presentation and flavor.
The B-Line team fired up the grill with chicken and fish for a potluck lunch, and everyone shared sides and stories with new friends in the shade of the palm trees.

Day 4: Paddle Battles & Neon Nights
Day 4 took us to the picture-perfect shores of Cane Garden Bay, where the sun was blazing, the water was glassy, and our owners were ready to compete.
We kicked off the day with a Stand-Up Paddleboard Race—men’s and women’s heats. Whether balancing like pros or belly-flopping into the bay, our owners gave it their all.
That night, we turned up the neon and headed to Paradise Club for one of the most anticipated parts of the week: Music Bingo with Dab That Tune! Between the dancing, the black lights, and the prizes, it was a party no one wanted to end.

Day 5: Farewells, Mermaid Tails & a Splash to Remember
As the sun rose on our final day, we turned up the fun one last time—Willy T-style. And since no goodbye ever feels quite as sad when you’re in costume – dressed as pirates and mermaids, we made one final splash for the farewell dinner at Pirates Bight. The perfect close, followed by our Superlative Awards Ceremony, where every boat took home a fun title to help remember the week by, and just like that, the flotilla came to a close.
Beyond the cocktails and paddleboards, these flotillas are about something bigger: community. They’re a fun way to use low-season owner points, but more than that, they’re a chance to meet fellow owners who often become future travel buddies and lifelong friends. You don’t just join a fleet when you buy a yacht with The Moorings—you become part of the family. And there’s truly no better place to come together than in paradise.
